MotoGP – Phillip Island Day 1 – Loris Capirossi: “Hard day”

Loris Capirossi ended the first day of free practice at Phillip Island in tenth position. The Suzuki rider worked on both bikes looking for the best setup on a track that has always been difficult for the 800cc GSV-R. His best time only came on the last lap of the day as the changes made by his team worked at the end of the session. However, these changes give the man from Imola hope, he has the say.

“Overall it was a tough day, especially the first 45 minutes of the session, because we really struggled to find the set-up of the bike. We had to change a lot on both bikes and in the end we made some big changes and made some good steps with the set-up. We are not very close to the leaders, but now we understand where we can improve over the weekend. We were very lucky with the weather today too, because it has been very bad here for the last few days. The temperature wasn't too bad today and the tires had to work hard, if it had been five degrees below, it would have been almost impossible to ride. We hope to have good weather tomorrow, so we can continue with the improvements we were making and be able to improve over the weekend. “
