Moto3 Sepang, Free Practice 1: Maverick Vinales is the fastest
Romano Fenati, eleventh, is the best of the Italian "patrol".
The first free practice session of the Moto3 class in Sepang (stage of the first of the three non-European trips) saw Maverick Vinales excel. The Team Calvo driver took the lead right at the end of the session with a time of 2:14.961.
The Spaniard from KTM preceded the FTR Hondas of Alexis Masbou and Jack Miller by 101 and 126 thousandths, who up to that point had been great protagonists. Fourth time for Alex Rins, rider of Team Estrella Galicia 0,0, riding the KTM, followed by Efren Vazquez with the Mahindra.
Sixth time for world championship leader Luis Salom, who put his KTM ahead of Isaac Vinales' FTR Honda and the Mahindras of Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira. The German Peter Oettl closes the Top Ten, riding the Kalex KTM of Team Tec Interwetten Moto3 Racing.
Romani Fenati, eleventh, is the best of the Italian drivers. Two positions further back we find Niccolò Antonelli, while the others are Matteo Ferrari 21st, Alessandro Tonucci 22nd, Lorenzo Baldassarri 25th and Francesco Bagnaia 34th.
The two Malaysian wild cards of Team Touchline-SIC-AJO, Hafiq Azmi and Aizat Malik are in 23rd and 28th position.
