Moto3 Phillip Island, Warm Up: Folger ahead of Oliveira

The warm up of the Moto3 class at Phillip Island (stage of the penultimate stage of the 2012 world championship) started with 13th in the air and 18th on the asphalt. Niccolò Antonelli, the Team Gresini rider who crashed disastrously at the start of the third free practice session, did not take part in the session and will not be in the race. The very young Rider from Cattolica had suffered a head injury and an initial loss of consciousness and was not given the OK by the doctors.

The fastest of these last km before the race which will start at 3am Italian time, was Jonas Folger, rider of Team Aspar. The German rider astride his Kalex KTM stopped the clock at a time of 1:38.592, a time 171 thousandths better than that set by the Portuguese Miguel Oliveira, aboard the Suter Honda who crashed without consequences at the end of the session.

Third time for Maverick Vinales, rider of Team Blusens Avintia. The Spaniard brought his FTR Honda ahead of the KTMs of Danny Kent (Teram Red Bull Ajo) and Zulfahmi Khairuddin, Team AirAsia-Sic-Ajo. Sixth time for the Spaniard Luis Salom, while the 2012 Moto3 champion Sandro Cortese is seventh, 594 thousandths from the top. Efren Vazquez, Alberto Moncayo and Jakub Kornfeil close the Top Ten.

First of the Italian riders is Romano Fenati, eleventh with the FTR Honda of Team Italia, while his team-mate Alessandro Tonucci is seventeenth. Armando Pontone with the Ioda finished 26th fastest, while Riccardo Moretti did not lap due to problems with his Mahindra.
