Moto3: Jorge Martín will race in the world championship with Team Aspar
The Spanish team will no longer race in the Moto2 class
Jorge Martín, a sixteen year old from San Sebastián de los Reyes, arrives in the Moto3 class world championship with Team Aspar. The winner of the Rookies Cup will be riding the Mahindra together with the confirmed Juanfran Guevara. The Spanish team instead renounces Moto2, where this year it is present with Jordi Torres and Nico Terol.
“First I wanted to congratulate Jorge Martin for the Rookies Cup champion title, secondly, I would say that we are very enthusiastic about the project that unites us with Mahindra – he said Jorge Martínez 'Aspar' – I like this new challenge which will involve us in the World Championship in the Moto3 class. Undoubtedly Jorge Martin is a rider who has earned everyone's respect, he is doing very well and deserves a chance. I like him because he is a rider who wants to learn and always tries to improve. I've spoken to him and have already identified some areas he wants to improve on.”
“Since I won the Rookies Cup on Saturday, I've been having an incredible experience, I hope to continue like this and learn by moving on to the Moto3 world championship – he added George Martin – I haven't slept much in the last few days, because I can't wait to start working with the Aspar team. I'm going to a Top Team, I hope to live this opportunity to the full. The important thing now is to continue to grow as a rider. Seen from the outside, the Moto3 class seems to be very difficult, but I think I am a strong rider and I hope to adapt as quickly as possible. I consider myself a regular driver, I try to improve every time I go on the track, this is what makes me drive fast.”
