Excellent seasonal debut for the Japanese (or rather, Japanese-Riccionese!) driver of the SIC58 Squadra Corse team, Tatsuki Suzuki, who obtained the pole position of the Qatar Grand Prix, recording his best time in 2:04.815.

Statements Tatsuki Suzuki, GP Qatar Qualifying

“Yesterday I was disappointed because I knew we were strong, but I made a mistake in communicating within the team, we had the wrong strategy. This morning I tried to get into Q2 straight away but I couldn't make it, so I went into Q1. I'm quite happy because it can be done, the important thing is tomorrow, it's good to start the season like this, we'll have a good race tomorrow."

Bad news however for the other side of the garage, Niccolò Antonelli will in fact have to sit out for two months following shoulder surgery. His return is likely for the Le Mans GP, scheduled for May 14th.
