Moto3 Catalunya: Matteo Ferrari “We worked well with the team, tomorrow in the race we will give our best”

The San Carlo Team Italia drivers closed the qualifying for the Catalunya Grand Prix with the 22nd and 31st times. The best was Matteo Ferrari, who seems to have recovered from the flu that had gripped him in recent days. His time (1'52″ 463) projects him towards the top-15. Andrea Locatelli was in more difficulty, having crashed in free practice and struggling with a setting that didn't give him confidence in qualifying.

“Fortunately it seems that the fever is now over: this is the first positive news of the day – said Matteo Ferrari – Overall today's balance is not bad, given the time being we are getting closer and closer to the top-15 although I still lose something in T4 , one of the crucial sectors of this route. We worked well with the whole team, so I can only be satisfied because we are making significant progress. For tomorrow we will try something again in the Warm Up and then, as always, give our best in the race."

“It certainly wasn't a positive day – added Andrea Locatelli – This morning we didn't go so badly, I slipped just when I was trying to push to gain further positions: these are things that can happen when you always try to give your best. Unfortunately in qualifying we made a change that did not have the desired effects, when there is little time available in a session it can therefore happen that you find yourself so far behind in an instant. In any case, tomorrow morning in the Warm Up we will take a step back in terms of set-up to make a good comeback in the race: after all, after such a qualifying, we can only improve!"
