Moto3 | GP Jerez Free Practice: Alonso sets a record, Rossi is tenth
The Team Aspar driver preceded Munoz and Fernandez
Moto3 GP Spain Jerez Free Practice – David Alonso started the Spanish Grand Prix in the best possible way, the fourth round of the Moto3 class Motorcycle World Championship.
The Team Aspar driver, despite the track not being in perfect conditions, has already set the new Jerez track record with a time of 1:44.590.
Behind the #80 of CFMoto was David Munoz on the KTM of Team BOE Motorsports, more than a second behind, exactly 1.079s.
Third and fourth times for the Honda Leopard of Adrian Fernandez and for the second KTM of Team BOE Motorsports, that of Joel Kelso. The two are separated from the summit by 1.329s and 1.380s.
Ivan Ortolà with the KTM of Team MT Helmets – MSI is fifth, ahead of the second Honda Leopard, that of rookie Angel Piqueras, the Husqvarna of Collin Veijer's Team Intact GP and team-mate Ryusei Yamanaka.
Closing out the Top Ten are Jacob Roulstone on GASGAS of Team Tech3 and our Riccardo Rossi, best of the Italian riders on the KTM of Team CIP.
The other Italians are Nicola Carraro (KTM MTA, who finished ahead of the world championship leader Daniel Holgado, ed.) 11th, his team-mate Stefano Nepa 16th, Filippo Farioli (Honda SIC58 Squadra Corse) 18th, Matteo Bertelle (Honda Snipers) 21st, and Luca Lunetta (Honda SIC58 Squadra Corse), 23rd.
Josè Antonio Rueda, who underwent appendicitis surgery a few days ago, did not take part in the session despite the “FIT”.
