Moto3 | GP Valencia FP1: Guevara the fastest, Foggia is sixth
The new world champion preceded Moreira and Holgado
Moto3 Valencia GP Valencian Community Free Practice 1 – Izan Guevara (GasGas) was the fastest in the first free practice session of the Grand Prix of the Valencian Community in the Moto3 class, the 20th and final stage of the 2022 MotoGP.
On the Valencia track named after Ricardo Tormo, the Team Aspar driver, new world champion, set the fastest lap with a time of 1:39.553. Behind him, Diogo Moreira (KTM MT Helmets -MSI) and Daniel Holgado (KTM Red Bull Ajo) were 0.010s and 0.150s behind.
The Japanese Ayumu Sasaki riding the Husqvarna of the Max Racing Team is fourth, ahead of the Turkish Deniz Oncu (KTM Tech 3) and our Dennis Foggia, Honda Leopard.
Closing out the Top Ten are Sepang winner John McPhee (Husqvarna Max Racing Team), Sergio Garcia (GasGas Aspar), Ryusei Yamanaka (KTM MT Helmets -MSI) and Xavier Artigas (CFMoto PruestelGP).
Kaito Toba (KTM CIP), Riccardo Rossi (Honda SIC2 Squadra Corse), Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda Leopard) and the wild-card Filippo Farioli, on track with the third GasGas of Team Aspar, also qualified for provisional Q58.
Andrea Migno (Honda Snipers) finished 15th, Nicola Fabio Carraro (KTM Avintia) 26th, Alberto Surra (Honda Snipers) 27th and Elia Bartolini (KTM Avintia) 31st.
