Moto3 | GP Misano Qualifying: Oncu takes pole, Foggia finishes seventh
Poker KTM with Oncu, Holgado, Moreira and Yamanaka
Moto3 GP Misano Qualifying – Deniz Oncu obtained the pole position of the San Marino Grand Prix and the Riviera di Rimini Moto3 class, 14th stage of the 2022 MotoGP.
The Team Tech 3 rider was the fastest in the qualifying sessions held under a threatening sky and with a few drops of rain that fell immediately from Q1 in Moto3. For Oncu it is the fourth pole of the season
Two other KTMs will start in the front row, that of Daniel Holgado (Red Bull Ajo) and that of the Brazilian rookie Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets – MSI).
Second row for another bike from the Austrian manufacturer, that of Ryusei Yamanaka (MT Helmets – MSI), for Izan Guevara's GasGas (Aspar) and for Carlos Tatay's CFMoto.
The best of the Italian riders is Dennis Foggia, seventh with the Honda of Team Leopard. The Roman rider is ahead of John McPhee (Husqvarna Max Racing Team) and compatriot Andrea Migno (Honda Snipers). Adrian Fernandez (KTM Tech 3) closes the Top Ten.
Stefano Nepa (KTM MTA) finished 12th, behind Jaume Masia (KTM Red Bull Ajo) and ahead of Sergio Garcia (GasGas Aspar) and compatriot Riccardo Rossi (Honda SIC58 Squadra Corse).
The Japanese Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda Leopard) and Ayumu Sasaki (Husqvarna Max Racing Team and winner at the Red Bull Ring despite two long lap penalties, ed.) did poorly, finishing in 16th and 17th place.
Alberto Surra (Honda Snipers), Nicola Fabio Carraro and Elia Bartolini (the latter two KTM Avintia riders, ed.) did not pass Q1 and will start from the seventh row, with the 19th, 20th and 21st time respectively.
