Moto3 | Malaysian GP Qualifying: Pole to Ramirez, Vietti on the second row
Second consecutive pole for the Team Leopard driver
Moto3 GP Malaysia Sepang Qualifying – The pole position of the Moto3 class Malaysian Grand Prix, eighteenth and penultimate stage of the 2019 MotoGP, went to Marcos Ramirez (Honda).
The Team Leopard driver set the best lap with a time of 2:11.758, after just over two minutes from the end of the session the riders returned to the track in search of pole, which until then had been in the hands of Tatsuki Suzuki (SIC58 Racing Team).
This is the second consecutive pole for Ramirez after that of Phillip Island. Also on the front row were Suzuki and John McPhee (Honda Petronas).
Albert Arenas (KTM Angel Nieto) will open the second row where we also find our Celestino Vietti (Sky Racing Team VR46) and Darryn Binder (KTM CIP Green Power).
New world champion Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Honda Leopard) set the seventh fastest time (third row) ahead of Ayumu Sasaki (Honda Petronas) and Gabriel Rodrigo (Honda Gresini).
Fifth row for Andrea Migno (KTM Mugen Race), while after passing the trap in Q1, Niccolò Antonelli (SIC2 Squadra Corse) did not take part in Q58 as he did not want to take risks given a few drops of rain and his collarbone still fractured and who will therefore start eighteenth.
Tony Arbolino (1th), Romano Fenati (19st), Dennis Foggia (21nd), Stefano Nepa (22th) and Riccardo Rossi (24th) had not passed Q29.
