Moto3 | Malaysian GP FP2: Toba in the lead, Migno is fifth
The Team Honda Asia rider ahead of Suzuki and Binder
Moto3 GP Malaysia Sepang Free Practice 2 – The second free practice session of the Moto3 class in Sepang, the eighteenth and penultimate round of the 2019 MotoGP, saw the riders take to the track with 34° in the air, 60° on the asphalt and 52% humidity, typical weather characteristics of Malaysia.
The fastest in FP2 where times dropped significantly compared to the morning session was Kaito Toba (Honda Team Asia), who stopped the clock at a time of 2:12.466.
Behind the Japanese rider, 0.235s behind, we find his compatriot from Team SIC58 Squadra Corse Tatsuki Suzuki (Honda), who in turn precedes the South African Darryn Binder (KTM CIP Power) by just 23 thousandths.
Fourth time for Ayumu Sasaki (Honda Petronas) and fifth for our Andrea Migno (KTM Mugen Race), the fastest of FP1.
Migno precedes Aron Canet (KTM Max Racing Team), Alonso Lopez (Honda Estrella Galicia 0,0) and his Team Snipers compatriot Romano Fenati (Honda).
In the provisional Q2, which could be definitive given the weather forecast for FP3 we also find: Sergio Garcia, Tony Arbolino, Jaume Masia, Filip Salac, the new world champion Lorenzo Dalla Porta and Raul Fernandez.
The other Italians are Riccardo Rossi 15th, Celestino Vietti 17th, Stefano Nepa 20th, Dennis Foggia 21st and the injured Niccolò Antonelli 28th.
