Moto2 Valencia, FP1: Luthi is the fastest, followed by Corsi and Folger
Fifth and sixth times for Mattia Pasini and Franco Morbidelli
GP Valencia Moto2 Free Practice 1 – Thomas Luthi achieved the best time in the first free practice session of the Moto2 class in Valencia, where the last stage of the 2016 world championship is scheduled for Sunday.
The Swiss driver was the fastest with a time of 1:35.513, a time that allowed him to beat the Roman Speed Up Simone Corsi by 0.123s.
Third time for the German Jonas Folger, who put his Kalex ahead of that of the British Sam Lowes. For the two it will be the last race in Moto2, given that both will move to MotoGP, the first with the Yamaha of Team Tech 3, the second with Aprilia.
Excellent result for Mattia Pasini, fifth and ahead of compatriot Franco Morbidelli. Closing out the Top Ten are Sandro Cortese, world champion Johann Zarco (he too will move to MotoGP and will be Folger's team-mate), Xavier Simeon and Marcel Schrotter.
Lorenzo Baldassarri (crashed without consequences) achieved the seventeenth time, while his team-mate Luca Marini was twenty-sixth, immediately ahead of Federico Fuligni.
