Andrea Iannone achieved his fourth pole position of this season, also managing to do so at the Sachsenring, where he stopped the clock at 1'24.982, a full six tenths better than Arne Tode who was surprisingly second on his home circuit. The driver from Abruzzo, penalized in Barcelona for overtaking under the yellow flag, will start from pole also ahead of Toni Elias, third despite a crash.

Julian Simon is also on the front row with the fourth time, better than Gabor Talmacsi, fifth with the second Speed ​​Up followed by Simone Corsi, sixth with the Motobi of the JIR team.
