Moto2 Motegi: Pole goes to Johann Zarco
The new world champion beat Luthi and Folger
Moto2 2015 Motegi Qualifying – Johann Zarco conquered the pole position of the Moto2 class Japanese Grand Prix, fifteenth stage of the 2015 world championship. The new world champion achieved it with the new Japanese track record, 1:50.339. The Swiss Thomas Luthi (+0.171s) and the German Jonas Folger (+0.577s) will start with him on the front row.
The second row will be opened by the British Speed Up driver Sam Lowes, who obtained the exact same time as Alex Rins, 1:50.953. Together with them also the Malaysian Hafizh Syahrin, author of an excellent qualification.
The Japanese Takaaki Nakagami will open the third row, where we also find the Spaniard Axel Pons and the German Sandro Cortese. Fourth row for Lorenzo Baldassarri, riding the Forward Racing Kalex.
A crash without consequences did not allow his team-mate Simone Corsi to go beyond the sixth row, sixteenth fastest. The reigning champion Esteve Rabat did not take to the track, having withdrawn yesterday after fracturing the radius of his left arm in training in Almeria.
