GP Japan Moto2 Free Practice 2 – Thomas Luthi achieved the best time in Free Practice 2 of the Moto2 class in Motegi, where the Japanese Grand Prix takes place on Sunday.

The Swiss from Team Garage Plus Interwetten lapped in 1:50.625, placing home rider Takaaki Nakagami by 0.275s and our Franco Morbidelli by 0.359s.

Sam Lowes on Team Gresini's Kalex set the fourth fastest time, ahead of world championship leader Johann Zarco, our Lorenzo Baldassarri and the German Sandro Cortese, the latter crashing at the end of the session without any consequences.

The Top Ten is closed by Alex Marquez, Marcel Schrotter and Jonas Folger. Mattia Pasini is thirteenth, Simone Corsi sixteenth and Luca Marini twenty-second.

Alex Rins, who is second in the standings just one point behind Zarco, crashed at the start of the session and ended up twenty-ninth.
