Moto2 Motegi, FP1: Nakagami at the top, Baldassarri is third
The Japanese rider started his home Grand Prix in the best possible way
GP Japan Moto2 Free Practice 1 – The Japanese Takaaki Nakagami set the best time in the first free practice sessions of the Japanese Grand Prix in the Moto2 class.
The Team Idemitsu Honda rider stopped the clock at a time of 1:51.816, behind him the Frenchman Johann Zarco and our Lorenzo Baldassarri, 0.159s behind the top.
The Swiss Thomas Luthi is fourth, ahead of the British Sam Lowes and our Franco Morbidelli, who also led the session.
Simone Corsi, Speed Up, is eighth. The Roman rider, victim of a crash which resolved without consequences, is behind Marcel Schrotter and ahead of Alex Marquez and Danny Kent, with the latter closing out the Top Ten.
Fifteenth and sixteenth times for Mattia Pasini and Luca Marini, preceded by the excellent Remy Gardner.
Difficult start for Alex Rins. The Spanish driver, who is second in the standings, just one point behind Zarco, is only twenty-first, 1.673 behind Nakagami.
It should be noted that Dominique Aegerter will not race the last four races of the world championship. The Swiss rider was dropped by Team Carxpert Interwetten because he signed a contract with Leopard Racing for the 2 Moto2017, when paddock rumors say he had an agreement with the current team.
