The first day of testing on the Motegi circuit did not end too well for Andrea Iannone, who only finished in the twenty-fifth time, due to grip problems, chattering and an electrical problem which ruined the driver's second session of testing, in 2011 he won the race. The word is up to him

“Today was a difficult day. We are struggling to find an effective solution to improve the bike: we have no grip and the chattering isn't helping us. I'm not happy because last year we won the race here, while now we are suffering. Furthermore, at the beginning of the second session there was a technical problem with the bike and I lost most of the time available. I know that the team is working hard and will do everything possible to help me improve. Let's wait for tomorrow's shifts and hope that things will go a little better.”
