Moto2 – Losail Race – Fall for Alex De AngelisMoto2 – Losail Race – Fall for Alex De Angelis

It's a bitter Qatar GP for Alex De Angelis that has just ended. Starting from the front row, the RSM Scot Team driver had managed to take second place when at the third corner he flew into the air and fell violently onto the asphalt of the Losail International Circuit. At the entrance to the third corner, Alex had to face a sharp braking from Toni Elias who was in front of him. The San Marino driver reacted by "sticking" to the brakes but the driver following him hit him, thus compromising the first race of his season.

Alex's debut in Moto2 brought him a lower back bruise and a bad blow to his left hand. A real shame because the driver from San Marino was one of the undisputed protagonists of the Qatari weekend, recording one of the best times in all the practice sessions and also in the warm up. Alex made an excellent start with the FORCE GP210 in the blue and white livery and, if things had gone differently, a good result would have been within his reach. De Angelis, however, is looking ahead, to be precise at the Japanese GP which on April 25th will offer him the opportunity to redeem himself.

Alex De Angelis
: “The regret for how things went is great. It's a shame because I started very well and even in the warm up I went quite fast. Elias braked earlier than I expected so I grabbed the brakes and the rider behind hit me. Toni was in front so it was his right to choose the braking point but I'm sorry it ended like this. Above all because the times recorded in the race were not so sensational so a good result was within reach. I took a big blow to my lower back and left hand but in a short time I'm sure I'll be ready for the Japanese GP.”
