Moto2 Indianapolis, Qualifying: Iannone “Happy with the front row”

With today's qualifying session, the starting grid has been defined for the eleventh round of the Moto2 class at the Indianapolis circuit. This was a very positive day for the Speed ​​Master team. In the morning's free practice, Iannone and his team had the opportunity to try out some changes that allowed the driver to improve his performance on the US track. In qualifying, after some final improvements in the first half of the session, Andrea took part in an incredible battle for the front row, stopping the clock at 1'44.158, 0.120 seconds from pole position. The driver from Vasto thus achieved the best qualifying position of the 2011 season, a fundamental result in view of tomorrow's race.

“This was a difficult day, but I'm happy to have secured a front row position. This is the best qualifying result of the year and starting from the front in the race is really important. It will certainly be a complicated race, we will need to give our all to be able to stay ahead of Marquez and Corsi. The heat certainly won't improve the situation and it will be essential to be able to control the durability of the front tire. We still have some work to do, we want to improve in some parts of the track, but I'm confident. Let's hope it's a race where we can have fun. Suter and the team worked a lot and I want to thank them, because they always do their best.”
