Moto2 | GP Silverstone Qualifying: Bagnaia on pole, Marini is fifth
The leader of the world championship preceded Gardner and Marquez
Moto2 British GP Qualifying – Francesco Bagnaia won the pole position of the Moto2 class British Grand Prix, the twelfth round of the 2018 MotoGP world championship.
The Sky Racing Team VR46 driver achieved it on the last lap with a time of 2:08.153, a time that allowed him to beat the Australian Remy Gardner, who in turn precedes the Spaniard Alex, right under the checkered flag. Marquez.
German Marcel Schrotter will open the second row, having achieved the seventh fastest time. Alongside him will be Luca Marini (Sky Racing Team VR46) and the Frenchman Fabio Quartararo, Speed Up rider who from next year will be riding the Yamaha MotoGP of the newly formed Team SIC together with our Franco Morbidelli.
Third row for Mattia Pasini (Italtrans), who preceded the Spaniard Iker Lecuona and the British Speed Up Sam Lowes.
Fourth row and closure of the Top Ten for rookie Romano Fenati (Marinelli Snipers), who placed Xavi Vierge and Team Pons compatriot Lorenzo Baldassarri behind him.
Miguel Oliveira, who trails Bagnaia by 3 points in the championship, is only 23rd at 1.815. An uphill race for the KTM rider.
