Moto2 | Malaysian GP FP3: Binder mocks Marquez and destroys the track record
No Italian in the top ten, but Bastianini, Marini and Di Giannantonio directly access Q2
Moto2 GP Malaysia Sepang Free Practice 3 – Brad Binder wins the third free practice session of the Moto2 class Malaysian Grand Prix, penultimate stage of the 2019 MotoGP World Championship.
The KTM team rider, stopping the clock at 2:04.769, demolished the track record by almost a second and beat the world leader Alex Marquez (Marc VDS) and Tetsuta Nagashima by more than six tenths.
Fourth time for Remy Gardner ahead of Tom Luthi and rookie Jorge Martin (KTM Ajo). Xavi Vierge finishes in seventh position, ahead of Jorge Navarro (Speed Up) and Iker Lecuona. Marcel Schrotter completes the top ten.
Out of the ten but qualified in Q2 Enea Bastianini (ItalTrans) who finished in twelfth position ahead of Luca Marini (Sky Racing Team VR46), who crashed fortunately without consequences, and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Speed Up).
Instead, they will have to go through the Q1 trap: Mattia Pasini (Tasca Racing), 16th, Andrea Locatelli (ItalTrans), 17th, Lorenzo Baldassarri (FlexBox HP40), 18th and hit in the final by Nagashima fortunately without consequences, Nicolò Bulega (Sky Racing Team VR46 ), 20th, Stefano Manzi (MV Agusta Forwar), 24th. He instead completed only 4 laps due to technical problems with Marco Bezzecchi (Tech3).
