Moto2 | Austrian GP FP3: Weather still protagonist, Gardner in command
Fear due to a collision between Lecuona and Oliveira
Moto2 GP Austria Free Practice 3 – Remy Gardner achieved the best time in the third and final free practice session of the Moto2 class at the Red Bull Ring, held on wet asphalt and rain tyres.
The Team Tech 3 rider, who lapped in 1:38.377, preceded the Spaniard Iker Lecuona by 0.898s, who was in turn ahead of Marcel Schrotter and the leader of the world championship classification Miguel Oliveira.
Oliveira and Lecuona were the protagonists of a bad accident at the end of the session, with the Team Swiss Innovative Investors rider rear-ending the Portuguese after losing control of his bike. Fortunately there were no consequences and Lecuona subsequently went to the garage to apologize to the #44.
Andrea Locatelli (Team Italtrans) achieved the fifth fastest time ahead of Fabio Quartararo's Speed Up and team-mate Mattia Pasini.
Joe Roberts, Lorenzo Baldassarri and Sam Lowes close the Top ten. Francesco Bagnaia closed the session with the seventeenth fastest time, ahead of Joan Mir and team-mate Luca Marini.
