Moto2: Tibia and fibula fracture for Franco Morbidelli
The Team Italtrans rider was injured while training with a motocross bike
Franco Morbidelli, rider of the Italtrans Moto2 Team, suffered a fracture of the tibia and fibula in his right leg while training with a cross bike. The accident occurred yesterday and the pilot underwent surgery today at the Orthopedics department of Rimini Hospital. The operation was technically successful and was carried out by doctors Giancarlo Lucidi and Alberto Morigi. Morbidelli will begin rehabilitation from tomorrow and it will take a couple of days to know the recovery time. Here are the words of Team Manager Luigi Pansera in this regard.
“We are very sorry. On top of everything, the accident occurred precisely in a period in which Franco was performing at his best; only ten days ago he achieved the podium in the United States and all of us, him first, were certain of an important progression. At this moment, what interests us most is his health, and only that. We are at his side to help him in what may be the needs of the moment and we are waiting for him to face the season finale together."
