Moto2 – Mattia Pasini will not take part in the Catalan Grand Prix, seventh stage of the 2019 MotoGP, due to a fracture to his left collarbone suffered while training.

The rider from Riccione was left without a bike in 2019, but raced in Austin with the FlexBox HP40 team to replace Fernandez and then in Petronas to replace the injured Pawi, in the Le Mans and Mugello stages. The #54 should also have competed in the Barcelona GP, scheduled for June 16, but will instead be forced to comment on the race in the cockpit, as happened in the first stages of the MotoGP.

Pasini broke the news by publishing a photo on Instagram and, shortly afterwards, Rosario Triolo, Moto2 and Moto3 commentator for Sky Sport MotoGP made it "official". Also according to the commentator, Yamaha test rider Jonas Folger will replace the Italian. The German, whose last appearance in the world championship dates back to the Aragon GP in 2017, however, according to what was reported by SpeedWeek.com, cannot race due to a clause in the contract with the Iwata manufacturer. The Malaysian team therefore has less than 10 days to find a replacement.
