Moto2 – Brno Free Practice 1 – Fonsi Nieto in command
Fonsi Nieto was the fastest rider in the first Moto2 test session in Brno. The former 250 star stopped the clock at 2'04.875 on the Moriwaki of the Holiday Gym G22 team, getting the better of Karel Abraham who crashed when he was leading the standings at his home circuit.
Shoya Tomizawa also crashed, but after restarting he managed to finish in 3rd position ahead of Gabor Talmacsi, Julian Simon and compatriot Yuki Takahashi. In seventh position the first of the Italian drivers, Simone Corsi, who beat Andrea Iannone with his Speed Up by a few hundredths.
Eleventh is Roberto Rolfo, on the podium at the Sachsenring, while Alex Baldolini is 14th, Raffaele De Rosa 18th, Claudio Corti 19th, only 33rd Niccolò Canepa on his debut with the Suter of RSM Team Scot after the divorce with Rapid Inside.
World championship leader Toni Elias did not take to the track due to the penalty imposed by the Federation for testing in recent days at Misano Adriatico.
