Nico Terol won by dominating the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas in the Moto2 class, the second stage of the 2013 world championship. The rider from Team Aspar was the author of a beautiful race. Initially he let his opponents vent, then went on to take the lead right up to the checkered flag. On the podium with him his compatriot from Team Pons Esteve Rabat and the Finn Mika Kallio. A race to forget instead for the winner of Qatar Pol Espargarò, who crashed and therefore put a "zero" in his box. As for the Italians, the best was Mattia Pasini, who finished eighth ahead of Alex de Angelis from San Marino. Scott Redding now leads the world rankings with 31 points, against 27 for Nico Terol, Mika Kallio and Esteve Rabat, 26 for Dominique Aegerter and 25 for Pol Espargarò.

Race report

The Moto2 class riders are ready to compete in the Red Bull Grand Prix Of The Americas, the second stage of the 2013 world championship, which will be held on the new COTA circuit in Texas. Pole position for Scott Redding, rider of the Marc VDS Racing Team (Kalex). The British rider at his first pole in the world championship will be joined on the front row by the Japanese of Team Italtrans Takaaki Nakagami (Team Italtrans) and the Spanish of Team Aspar Nico Terol, on Suter.

Second row for Esteve Rabat (Kalex), Dominique Aegerter (Suter) and for the Roman Simone Corsi, first of the Italian riders, riding the Speed Up of Team NGM Mobile. The winner of Qatar, Pol Espargarò will start from seventh place, ahead of Xavier Simeon's Kalex and that of Finnish Milka Kallio. Further back are our Mattia Pasini and Alex de Angelis, who start in 24th and 25th position respectively. All ready, twenty laps to go. The traffic lights go out, the fastest at the start is Nakagami, who however goes wide and gives way to pole man Scott Redding. Followed by Terol, Aegerter, Corsi, Kallio, Pol Espargaarò, Simeon, West and Di Meglio

Big brawl, the riders at the front exchange positions several times, Nakagami in the lead. but Redding doesn't agree and takes back his position. Jump Start meanwhile for the 2012 Moto3 champion Sandro Cortese.

After three laps, pole man Redding leads the race ahead of Terol, Aegerter, Kallio, Pol Espargarò, Corsi, Nakagami (who ran wide and lost positions), Simeon, Di Meglio and West. Fall for Pol Espargarò! the Team Pons rider is sore on the ground! his race ends here.

Redding at the front tries to escape, but makes a small mistake and Terol takes the lead. Now the pole-man is followed by team-mate Mika Kallio, who moves into second position. However, Redding was not there and took second place again. Dominique Aegerter is also close to the top three, with our Simone Corsi slightly behind.

Now it is the Team Aspar driver who attempts to escape. In fact, Terol has about a second ahead of Kallio, now second and ahead of team-mate Redding. Aegerter also passes Redding, while Corsi is unable to catch up with the chasing group for the moment, even though he is riding fast. Meanwhile, Takaaki Nakagami retires, having returned to the pits after a straight shot, most likely due to a mechanical problem.

Summary after six laps, Terol in the lead ahead of Kallio, Aegerter, Redding, Corsi and West. Unfortunately, Simone Corsi falls, returning to twenty-fifth position and very far behind. Too bad for the Team NGM Mobile driver who was having a good race.

The fight for the third step of the podium is between Dominque Aegerter and Scott Redding, while in front Terol has almost two seconds ahead of Kallio. Meanwhile, Mattia Pasini and Alex De Angelis are in twelfth and thirteenth position respectively.

We have now reached the halfway point of the race, the top ten positions are occupied by Terol, Kallio, Redding, Aegerter, Rabat, West, Zarco, Simeon, Di Meglio and Simon. Mattia Pasini is eleventh, while Alex De Angelis is thirteenth. Meanwhile, Krummenacher, who was thirteenth, falls. There were no physical consequences for him.

The Team Aspar pacemaker seems to be the one who dominated the 125cc. In his hands the Suter is a marvel and at the moment seems to have no rivals. In fact, Terol has over three seconds ahead of Kallio, who in turn precedes Redding and Aegerter. Redding loses ground, now passed by Esteve Rabat, driver of Team Pons.

Five laps to go, Terol looks like clockwork, continuing to hammer away and increasing his lead, which is now over three seconds. Kallio who is in second position is now followed by Aegerter, who in turn is followed by the excellent Esteve Rabat. Scott Redding, however, loses ground, now fifth ahead of West, Zarco and Mattia Pasini, who recovered up to eighth position. The Team NGM Mobile driver's comeback was good.

The last lap begins, last km of the race, Nico Terol goes solo to win his first race in the Moto2 class. His race was beautiful. Also on the podium with him after a great three-way battle were Esteve Rabat and Mika Kallio, with Aegerter fourth. Pasini and De Angelis finished in eighth and ninth position.
