Moto2 Austin, Free Practice 1: Lowes ahead of Zarco, Morbidelli is third
The British driver took the Speed Up to the top, an excellent start for Morbidelli
Moto2 Austin 2015 – Sam Lowes achieved the best time in the first test session of the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas, the second stage of the 2015 world championship. The Speed Up rider stopped the clock at a time of 2:26.356, going 0.289 ahead of the Frenchman Johann Zarco, riding the Kalex of Team Ajo Motorsport.
Excellent third time for our Franco Morbidelli, who clocked 2:26.879. The Team Italtrans driver drove very well on the wet asphalt of the Circuit of The Americas, putting the Australian Anthony West and the Spaniard Julian Simon behind him, both riding the Team QMMF Speed Up.
Sixth time for the German Marcel Schrotter, riding the Tech 3. The Top Ten is closed by the Spaniard Alex Rins, the Finnish Mika Kallio, the Malaysian Azlan Shah and the Belgian from Team Gresini, Xavier Simeon.
Sixteenth time for Alex Marquez. The 2014 world champion of the Moto3 class preceded the reigning champion and his team-mate Esteve Rabat. Both ended up on the ground, fortunately without consequences. Forward Racing drivers Lorenzo Baldassarri and Simone Corsi finished in eighteenth and twenty-fourth position respectively.
