Moto2 | GP Qatar Race: Aldeguer doesn't stop and also wins in Lusail

Moto2 GP Qatar Race – Fermin Aldeguer won the Moto2 class Qatar Grand Prix, the 19th stage of the season, held at the Lusail International Circuit.

The SpeedUp driver, despite a mistake at the first corner in the early stages of the race, made a comeback to win the third race in a row (Thailand, Malaysia and Qatar, ed.), the fourth of the season also counting Silverstone.

On the podium were Manuel Gonzalez (VR46 Team) and Aron Canet (Pons), who fought until the finish line, passing from #18 only 9 thousandths before #40.

Also good was the battle for fourth place which saw Jake Dixon (Aspar) and Ai Ogura (Team Asia) as protagonists, with the latter prevailing by just 0.060s.

Sixth was Celestino Vietti, with the Fantic Racing driver who finished ahead of Somkiat Chantra (Team, Asia), the 2023 World Champion Pedro Acosta (Red Bull Ajo, never among the protagonists in this race, ed.) and Alonso Lopez (SpeedUp ). Our Tony Arbolino (Marc VDS) closes the Top Ten.

Also scoring points were pole man Joe Roberts (Italtrans) 11th, Sam Lowes (Marc VDS), Marcos Ramirez (OnlyFans American Racing), Darryn Binder (Intact GP) and Jeremy Alcoba (Gresini).

Dennis Foggia (Italtrans) finished 16th, while Mattia Casadei (Fantic Racing) reached the finish line in 26th position.

With the title awarded and going to Acosta and second position in the hands of Arbolino, in Valencia it will be a fight between Dixon and Aldeguer for third, with the latter being 7 points behind the Aspar driver.
