Moto2 | GP Qatar Qualifying: Roberts wins pole ahead of Vietti
Fourth career pole position for the American driver of Team Italtrans
Moto2 GP Qatar Qualifying – Joe Roberts took pole position in the Moto2 class Qatar Grand Prix, the 19th stage of the season, scheduled for Lusail.
The Team Italtrans driver achieved it with the best lap of 1:57.305, beating our Celestino Vietti (Fantic Racing) by just 7 thousandths of a second, who progressed from Q1. Also on the front row is Aron Canet (Pons).
Fermin Aldeguer (SpeedUp) is fourth, ahead of Sam Lowes (Marc VDS) and Jake Dixon (Aspar), who closes the second row. The new world champion Pedro Acosta (Red Bull Ajo) will start from seventh place, ahead of Marcos Ramirez (OnlyFans American Racing) and Manuel Gonzalez (VR46 Team).
Tenth time for Alonso Lopez (SpeedUp) who will open the fourth row where we also find our Tony Arbolino (Marc VDS) and Ai Ogura (Team Asia).
Our Dennis Foggia (Italtrans) and Mattia Casadei (Fantic Racing), among others, were unable to get through Q1 and will start from 23rd and 27th place.
