Moto2 | Gp Austin FP3: Salac mocks Baltus, Arbolino and Vietti do well
A day to forget for SpeedUp drivers Alonso Lopez and Fermin Aldeguer
Moto2 Gp Americas Austin Free Practice 3 – Filip Salac was the fastest in the third and final free practice session of the Moto2 class Grand Prix of the Americas, third race of the 2023 MotoGP World Championship, scheduled at COTA, Circuit of The Americas.
The Team Gresini rider who lapped in 2:09.385 beat an excellent Barry Baltus at the end, with the Team Racing GP rider 0.154s behind.
Excellent third time for our Tony Arbolino; the winner of the Argentine Grand Prix preceded Pedro Acosta (Red Bull Ajo), his compatriot from Fantic Racing, Celestino Vietti, Manuel Gonzalez (VR46 MasterCamp) and team-mate Sam Lowes (Marc VDS).
Closing out the Top Ten are Joe Roberts (Italtrans), Jeremy Alcoba (Gresini) and Aron Canet (Pons). Also directly accessing Q2 are Jake Dixon (Aspar), category rookie Dennis Foggia (Italtrans), Ai Ogura (Team Asia) and with the time set yesterday Albert Arenas (Red Bull Ajo).
They will have to pass through Q1 among others: Bo Bendsneyder, Somkiat Chantra, Lorenzo Dalla Porta, Sergio Garcia, Darryn Binder and SpeedUp drivers Alonso Lopez and Fermin Aldeguer. The latter was taken to the medical center for checks after a bad fall.
