Moto2 | Gp Austin FP2: Acosta ahead of Arbolino

Moto2 Gp Americas Austin Free Practice 2 – Pedro Acosta dominated the second free practice session of the Moto2 class Grand Prix of the Americas, the third race of the 2023 MotoGP championship, scheduled at COTA, Circuit of The Americas.

The Team Red Bull Ajo driver was the only driver to go under the "wall" of 2 minutes and ten, exactly 2:09.856.

The only driver who kept up with him at the end of the session was our Tony Arbolino, with the Team Marc VDS driver fresh from victory in the Argentine Grand Prix second at 0.223s.

Aron Canet (Pons) is third and ahead of Joe Roberts (Italtrans), Jake Dixon (Aspar, the fastest in FP1, ed.), Sam Lowes (Marc VDS) and Albert Arenas (Red Bull Ajo).

Closing out the Top Ten are Barry Baltus (Racing GP), Filip Salac (Gresini) and Bo Bendsneyder (SAG). Darryn Binder (Intact GP), the Team SpeedUp duo formed by Fermin Aldeguer Alonso Lopez and Somkiat Chantra, also qualified for the provisional Q2, the latter with the time recorded in Q1.

Fantic Racing rider Celestino Vietti finished 14th in the session, Team Italtrans rookie Dennis Foggia was 19th while Lorenzo Dalla Porta (SAG) was 24th.

The 2022 world champion of the Moto3 class Izan Guevara (GASGAS), making his debut after an injury which occurred shortly before the start of the season, is 27th.
