The other Italians back
Moto2 Dutch GP Assen Free Practice 2 – Jake Dixon, after having won Free Practice 1 of the Moto2 class Dutch Grand Prix, also made the second free practice session his own.
The Aspar rider started the Assen weekend in the best possible way, the last one before the summer break. The #96 preceded Sachsenring winner Pedro Acosta (Red Bull Ajo) and Alonso Lopez (SpeedUp), 0.146s and 0.310s behind.
Ai Ogura (Team Asia) returns to the top positions, finishing fourth ahead of Sam Lowes (Marc VDS), Albert Arenas (Red Bull Ajo) and team-mate Somkiat Chantra.
Also in the Top Ten is World Championship leader Tony Arbolino (Marc VDS), who "stops" just over half a second from the top, exactly 0.535s ahead of Barry Baltus (RW Racing GP) and Sergio Garcia (Pons).
Fermin Aldeguer, Aron Canet, Filip Salac and Joe Roberts also qualified for provisional Q2. Category rookie Dennis Foggia (Italtrans) finished 18th, while Celestino Vietti (Fantic Racing) was 21st.
