Moto2 | GP Argentina FP3: Lopez the fastest

Moto2 GP Argentina Free Practice 3 – The weather after Moto3 also had a hand in the third free practice session of the Moto2 class which took place at Termas de Rio Hondo, where the Argentine Grand Prix, second stage of the 2023 MotoGP World Championship, is scheduled.

Unlike the cadet category, the riders in the intermediate class were able to use slick tires first, bringing their Day 1 times closer, but without being able to beat them given that the asphalt still had wet patches.

The fastest in these conditions was Alonso Lopez who took the Boscoscuro of Team SpeedUp into the lead with a time of 1:44.940 (yesterday Arbolino, the best of Day 1, had lapped in 1:43.172, ed.).

Behind #21 we find Somkiat Chantra (Team Asia), Aron Canet (Pons), Fermin Aldeguer (SpeedUp) and our Tony Arbolino (Marc VDS), who as we said was the best of Day 1.

Also in the Top Ten are Jordi Torres (Aspar), Sam Lowes (Marc VDS), Celestino Vietti (Fantic Racing), Sergio Garcia (Pons) and Rory Skinner (American Racing).

For the weather issue, the following drivers, the fastest of the three sessions combined, directly access Q2: Arbolino, Salac, Acosta, Dixon, Chantra, Canet, Lowes, Aldeguer, Bendsneyder, Lopez, Gonzalez, Arenas, Baltus and Roberts.

All the others including Vietti, Dalla Porta and Dennis Foggia will have to go through Q1.
