Moto2 | Gp Mugello FP1: Roberts the best, Arbolino is fifth
Eighth and tenth time for Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio
Moto2 Italian GP Mugello Free Practice 1 – The first free practice session of the Moto2 class Italian Grand Prix, the sixth round of the 2021 MotoGP championship scheduled for Sunday at Mugello, saw Joe Roberts excel.
The Team Italtrans driver who lapped in 1:51.746 (time achieved on the 17th of his 18 laps), preceded the leader of the world championship standings Remy Gardner (Red Bull Ajo) and Sam Lowes (Marc VDS), respectively 0.238s behind 0.258s.
Rookies Raul Fernandez (Red Bull Ajo) and Tony Arbolino (Intact GP) achieved the fourth and fifth fastest times ahead of Augusto Fernandez, Xavi Vierge (Petronas) and Marco Bezzecchi (Sky Racing Team VR46).
Closing out the Top Ten are Marcel Schrotter (Intact GP) and Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini). Lorenzo Baldassarri (MV Agusta Forward) is 16th, Celestino Vietti (Sky Racing Team VR46) 17th, Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Italtrans) 18th, Stefano Manzi (Pons) 19th, while Nicolò Bulega (Gresini) and Simone Corsi (MV Agusta Forward) are in 22nd and 24th position respectively. Tommaso Marco (MV Agusta Forward) closes the time table, 31st time.
