Moto2 GP France Le Mans Race – Raul Fernandez wins the French Grand Prix, fifth stage of the 2021 Moto2 class MotoXNUMX World Championship. Second victory of the season for the Spaniard after the one in Portugal.

Starting from the front row, Marco Bezzecchi (Sky Racing Team V46) immediately tried to escape, but after an initial push Joe Roberts (ItalTrans) and Raul Fernandez (KTM Ajo) caught up with him.

The first twist came 20 laps from the end when one of the candidates for victory, Roberts, slipped, leaving the Italian and the Spaniard to fight for the victory.

Fernandez, after passing Bezzecchi, immediately manages to break away and take a small gap. In the meantime, Bendsneyder, Gardner and Arbolino are also fighting for the podium.

With 6 laps to go Remy Gardner (KTM Ajo) passes Bezzecchi in pursuit of the race leader. But the Spaniard, keeping his nerve and hammering out lap after lap, won the GP ahead of his teammate and Marco Bezzecchi.

Excellent fourth place for Tony Arbolino (Intact GP) who finished ahead of Bo Bendsneyder (SAG) and Marcel Schrotter (IntactGP).

Seventh position for Ai Ogura (Team Asia) ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini), forced to a double long lap penalty, and Simone Corsi (MV Agusta Forward). Jorge Navarro (Speed Up) completes the top ten.

Eleventh position for Lorenzo Dalla Porta (ItalTrans) preceding Nicolò Bulega (Gresini), 13th.

Lorenzo Baldassarri (MV Agusta Forward) is out of the points after making an error halfway through the race. Celestino Vietti (Sky Racing Team V46) and Tommaso Marcon (MV Agusta Forward) were also far away, finishing in 20th and 21st position respectively.

After the French GP Remy Gardner is the world championship leader with a one point advantage over Raul Fernandez. Third was Bezzecchi who was 17 points behind.
