Moto2 | Barcelona GP FP1: Augusto Fernandez at the top, Bezzecchi is fifth
Marc VDS double with Fernandez and Lowes, Gardner is third
Moto2 GP Catalunya Barcelona Free Practice 1 – The first free practice session of the Moto2 class Catalunya Grand Prix, the seventh round of the 2021 MotoGP championship scheduled for Sunday in Montmelò, saw Augusto Fernandez excel.
The Team Marc VDS driver who stopped the clock at a time of 1:43.703, preceded team-mate Sam Lowes by 0.150s and Remy Gardner (Red Bull Ajo) by 0.153s, with the latter who next year will be in MotoGP riding the KTM of Team Tech 3.
Raul Fernandez (Red Bull Ajo) achieved the fourth fastest time ahead of our Marco Bezzecchi (Sky Racing Team VR46) and Hector Garzo (Pons).
Seventh time for Bo Bendsneyder (SAG Team), followed by Petronas riders Xavi Vierge and Jake Dixon. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Gresini) set the eleventh time while his team-mate Nicolò Bulega was thirteenth.
The other Italians are: Stefano Manzi (Pons) 17th, Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Italtrans) 19th, Tony Arbolino (Intact GP rookie) 22nd, Celestino Vietti (Sky Racing Team VR46 rookie) 24th, Lorenzo Baldassarri (MV Agusta Forward) 28th and Simone Courses (MV Agusta Forward) 30th.
