Manuel Poggiali first in Friday's free practice at Estoril

Manuel Poggiali was the fastest in Friday morning practice.

The San Marino driver left behind Arnoud Vincent, 2nd, 335 thousandths behind and Daniel Pedrosa, 3rd, almost 9 tenths behind.

The Italians Sanna and Cecchinello did well, placing themselves in fourth and fifth position respectively; Alex De Angelis and Gino Borsoi from San Marino were further behind and for now have to settle for 13th and 14th place.
