Yamaha Sepang test, Rossi and Burgess satisfied with the work done….

Last day: Yamaha gains strength from the Sepang tests

In very hot weather conditions, Valentino Rossi (Team Gauloises
Fortuna Yamaha) lowered his previous circuit record of 2'03.82
during today's tests. He recorded a best time of 2'02.75
in the final session of the intense three days of testing, doing today
a total of 59 laps.

But the reigning World Champion of the MotoGP class can't wait
to be able to return to Sepang in a couple of weeks to continue with development
of the bike.
“We did a great job today,” he said. “The time is done
it's already good for a first test, but our main goal
here it was looking for good tire and chassis settings. I really enjoyed it
during these my first three days with Yamaha, I am happy. There is
still some work to do on the engine and we will continue to work hard, but everything
all in all things went really well.”

The chief mechanic of the World Champion, Jerry Burgess, showed
a quiet satisfaction with the results obtained. “I would say it's going
all good,” he said. “We have already achieved a good time
and we are perfectly in line with the times and programs of the Michelin tests.
The integration with the rest of the Yamaha staff is taking place at maximum speed
harmony and now we will return home to work on what the Division of
Development Yamaha has in store for us.”
