All senior Yamaha executives were present at the presentation of Valentino
Red as the official driver of the company which took place today at a hotel in
Tokyo.
Takashi Kaji, representative of Yamaha Motor, Masao Furusawa,
manager of the racing department for MotoGP e Davide Brivio, director
sportsman of the team Gauloises Fortuna Yamaha, attended the premiere
official appearance of the new star of the three tuning forks company.

To understand the upheaval brought about by the arrival of the world champion
in Yamaha, just think that in recent years the Japanese company had suppressed
the traditional presentation ceremony in the capital.

The Italian driver lived up to his proverbial playful style by exchanging
his helmet with the popular Japanese comedian joji Tokoro, with
who also crossed a samurai sword for the benefit of photographers.
Rossi, however, proved cautious when speaking about next year's objectives.

"It will be very difficult to win races in the first half of the championship, ours
the goal will be the podium. During the season we will try to improve the YZRM1
and win some races," he said.

The riders of the Gauloises Fortuna Yamaha team and the Fortuna Gauloises Tech3 team
next week they will face their fourth seasonal test session,
in Australia at Phillip Island, also the setting for the two-week tests
does. The two teams will subsequently take part in the official MotoGP tests
in Catalonia and Jerez.
