Randy de Puniet will contest the Superbike world championship with Suzuki
The French rider will join Alex Lowes
Randy de Puniet returns to competition, specifically in Superbike. The French rider, who for the last two years has been the test rider for the Suzuki MotoGP (with which he will contest the Valencia race as a wild card) will race with the Voltcom Crescent Suzuki team, but will also continue his role as a tester in the Top Class. The transalpine driver also raced in the Suzuka 8 Hours this year, finishing second in Team Yoshimura Shell Advanced together with Takuya Tsuda (who took the pole) and Josh Waters. The word is up to him.
“I am very happy to join Tea, Crescent Suzuki in the Superbike World Championship, because my goal for 2015 was to return to competing on the track. The tests for the past year were ok, but obviously what I want is to race! I really enjoyed racing in Suzuka this year, racing, fighting and being on the podium is everything to me. I had the opportunity to be part of the Crescent team for next year and I'm really happy. My first priority was to stay with Suzuki because I want to stay within this family, and for me this is a new challenge, a new championship, a new bike, new tyres, everything is different and I have many things to learn , but I'm ready for it and I'm very confident.”
