MotoGP | Sepang Test Day 3: Morbidelli, “We are on the right track” [VIDEO]

MotoGP Test Sepang Petronas Yamaha – Franco Morbidelli and Fabio Quartararo closed the three-day IRTA Test in Sepang in eighth and sixteenth position respectively.

Both Petronas Yamaha team riders improved over the course of all three days, both finishing under 2 minutes. The Italian-Brazilian driver made several experiments with the set-up, trying to improve and remaining satisfied with the results obtained.

These are the words of Franco Morobidelli: “The last day here at the Sepang International Circuit went really well. We managed to complete the program we set ourselves yesterday, improve our pace and top speed. I wasn't able to do a race simulation because we had a lot of things to test, but we will do that at the Qatar test. What I managed to do for the first time was a good attack on time. We also tried a few different tires, including the super soft, and gathered some useful data. We still have some work to do because we want to be closer to the fastest, but we are on the right track and we are working hard."

On the other side of the garage, Fabio Quartararo completed a race simulation and worked on suspension and braking.

These are the words of Fabio Quartararo: “Today was another positive day at the Sepang international circuit. This morning we set a good lap time, going under 2'00, but our weak point remains that I'm struggling to do a qualifying lap. Despite this, I am very happy because in my first race simulation on a MotoGP I felt physically very good. For me it was another step forward, with the heat and the track temperature at 60° it is very difficult, but we dealt with this situation quite well. After the race simulation we went back on a couple of things and made a slight improvement at the end of the day. In Qatar we will have to work on braking. This will be our goal because in the fast corners we are in good shape."
