Valentino Rossi, at the end of the German GP, ​​admitted that he didn't know what they would feel in the tests on August 5, but Massimo Meregalli, Monster Yamaha team manager, spoke to the MotoGP.com website.

This is what we are paying the most for now, especially on the faster tracks. But we still have a lot of work to do. Now we're really focused on trying to improve acceleration because we'd like to minimize the difference in top speed. We will continue to work, as we did last year even if we were unable to demonstrate it. We work, we work, we always work. However, something has changed in Japan, the fact that we will test the new bike in Brno and Misano is a good sign. First of all, both riders will start testing and test the basis of next year's bike. This is positive because in the last two years we have not been able to do this."
