Moto2 Motegi: Zarco, pole and crash, front row for Morbidelli

GP Japan Moto2 Qualifying – Johann Zarco took pole position in the Moto2 class Japanese Grand Prix, the fifteenth stage of the 2016 world championship which will take place tomorrow on the Motegi circuit.

The leader of the world championship achieved it with a time of 1:49.961, a time that allowed him to beat the Swiss Thomas Luthi by just 67 thousandths. Zarco also crashed a few corners before the end of the session, fortunately without any physical consequences.

Also on the front row was the excellent Franco Morbidelli who led the Kalex of Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS 0.356s from the top.

The British Sam Lowes will open the second row; the Team Gresini rider, author of multiple braking errors, preceded Sandro Cortese and Alex Pons.

Third row for home idol Takaaki Nakagami, for Alex Marquez and Jonas Folger. Mattia Pasini with the Kalex of Team Italtrans is tenth while the qualification of Lorenzo Baldassarri and Luca Marini was all uphill.

The Forward Racing duo crashed ready-to-go just minutes into the session and the team had their work cut out for them to get their riders back on track. In the end Baldassarri finished fourteenth (immediately behind Simone Corsi's Speed ​​Up), while Marini twenty-sixth.

From a championship perspective, Alex Rins' performance should be forgotten. The Team Pons driver (who trails poleman Zarco in the standings by just one point) finished twenty-second, 1.633 behind the Frenchman.
