Fausto Gresini defends Marco SimoncelliFausto Gresini defends Marco Simoncelli

Fauto Gresini, owner of Team San Carlo Gresini, believes that the criticism leveled at his rider Marco Simoncelli in recent days has been exaggerated. The contact with Pedrosa which occurred during the race at Le Mans, a contact which led to the fall of the Spanish Repsol Honda Team rider (for him a fracture of his right collarbone) sparked journalists and Spanish riders who lashed out against the rider from Coriano. It all started in Estoril when a Lorenzo had polemically criticized the Italian driver, guilty of driving too over the top. Unfortunately for him, immediately after that argument, the contact that cost Pedrosa dearly occurred. Gresini does not speak of an unfair penalty (Ride through inflicted on Simoncelli), but believes it is exaggerated to think that his rider deserved the black flag or even disqualification for the next races.

“I will make a preamble to make things clear from the beginning: I'm sorry that Pedrosa got hurt, another Honda rider, a contender for the title who among other things had to test the 1.000 cc – Gresini told the Gazzetta dello Sport – Marco certainly made a mistake for which he was sanctioned. But I don't accept this boy being crucified as if he were evil. Looks like he killed someone. We saw that one punch (that of Stoner to De Puniet during the warm-up) had a value of 5.000 euros and that some other falls caused were not sanctioned. And if we look closely, Jorge's (Lorenzo) overtaking on Andrea (Dovizioso) was harder than Marco's. I would like to try to tone down the controversy, but I cannot accept some points of view, even if I understand that they come from a hurt person. I would also like to remind those with short memories what happened in Estoril in 2006 (when Pedrosa hit his then teammate Hayden who was fighting for the title) which was perhaps even worse. I want to try to dispel the enormous pressure that has been put on Marco's shoulders. Maybe it's the effect they were hoping for because now he's going fast, whereas last year he wouldn't have scared anyone. I would just like precise rules for everyone.”

GREAT FAUST!!! all of us who have followed the world championship for years know very well what you are saying!!! there have been many instances of incorrectness much worse than these and never punished...indeed sometimes even praised (like Rossi on Stoner in hindi who also cut the curve)...and Lorenzo after the overtaking made on Dovi even has the courage to speak... missed opportunity to shut up and at least prove that you are smart!!
So many people are with you and Marco

    GO SUPERMITICOSIC!!!!

I have seen and re-watched the video many times... I don't understand why Pedrosa raises the bike... someone replied: to brake... so he went too far?

I also watched the video several times. In my opinion, Pedrosa came a long way, and above all, when Pedrosa finds himself in a fight with someone he gets confused, as has happened many times in the past. He is very good at starting first and finishing first, but when he has to fight with someone for me he is afraid and so…

Well, perhaps one way to verify whether what Simoncelli says is true, that is, that Pedrosa has let go of the brakes, could be to verify Pedrosa's telemetry data. To Puig who acts as an inquisitor and hopes for imprisonment (and why not, maybe even in solitary confinement?), Gresini is right to remember the episode when Pedrosa knocked out HIS teammate, leading the world championship with two races to go, because he still had a glimmer of mathematical hope in remaining in the fight for the title. Hayden then won the world championship thanks only to a divine intervention that knocked out Rossi in the last race, one of Rossi's very rare mistakes, when he could easily manage his lead as leader of the championship. Sorry for Pedrosa, without rhetoric, but the mistake for those who ride motorbikes at those speeds, for those who are always at the limit and for those who have to make decisions in fractions of a second with the "telemetry" data of their off-scale adrenaline, is not it may not be allowed, Simoncelli and the others are not PlayStation racers... if they make a mistake in taking the escape routes, I think we could make a mistake in calculating the millimeters which represent the limit beyond which Simoncelli's overtaking would have made us jump to our feet on the sofa

I remain of the opinion that whoever is in front sets the trajectory most congenial to him, in that case he was in front!!!!!!!
I agree that he also lengthened the braking, but he managed to keep the bike down and also set the curve....the one who wasn't able to set the curve was poor Pedrosa!!!

DEAR SIC, put the statement on the side of the motorbike, on both sides, they branded you so much, but you also write as an idiot who doesn't bend the motorbike...
it is paradoxical that.. 1 whoever is on the inside folds later and is long compared to whoever is long and on the outside, whoever is on the inside does not have the bike folded, whoever is on the inside with little space lifts the bike (so you have even less) SIC was hard but it's right, the SIC even picked up the bike... they're racing to overtake... those who get hurt because they didn't do many things before to avoid falling (pedrosa was in an overtaking position and he suffered it too, this is paradoxical, if you don't want to fall you take the best trajectory, that of the sic) he has the responsibility and should reflect on his inadequacy, but on the other hand if his nickname is "chamomile!" Maybe it's better for him to have some coffee when he wakes up. ONE IS PLACED INSIDE TO FOLD AFTER THE ONE ON THE OUTSIDE.

What geniuses that slide on this forum!!! and I'm wasting my time replying!!! Pedrosa straightened his bike because he was touched (for the first time) by Simoncelli who was not in front but let go of the brakes and closed the door on him, then there was the second contact which caused the fall. A week has passed now, let's put a stop to it and enjoy the next GPs.
Anyway, Sic made a statement of his own, there's no doubt about this, in 7 days no one will remember it anymore and everything will go back to how it was before (if he manages to finish the race without a hitch). Closed.

    but if he "adorns" it
he even removed the videos from YouTube so as not to show Pedrosa's chapel...
