Bautista successfully operated on his left femur

Rizla Suzuki rider Álvaro Bautista is recovering in Hamad Medical Corporation Hospital in Doha, Losail after a successful operation to “repair” a fracture to his left femur.

Bautista was injured during yesterday's final practice session and was immediately taken to hospital after preliminary tests on the track which revealed a fractured femur. He spent the night in hospital before undergoing surgery this morning to realign the bone. Bautista will return to Madrid as soon as his condition is stable enough to allow him to travel and will be immediately visited by renowned surgeon Dr. Angel Villamor to take the first steps of his recovery.
