In one last exciting race of the 250 class Hiroshi Aoyama is world champion, despite a thrill on the seventh lap when he went off the track and found himself in 11th position. The Japanese driver restarted and managed to see the finish line in seventh place, just when Marco Simoncelli, leading the race, slipped, abandoning even his last hopes of winning the championship.

Aoyama is therefore the last world champion in the 250 class, while Hector Barbera is the last winner, managing to exploit the mistakes of his opponents while also gaining second position in the championship. Alvaro Bautista then finished on the podium, second who will test the Suzuki MotoGP tomorrow, and Raffaele De Rosa, third and best rookie rider of the year thanks to Mike Di Meglio's crash.

The Italians, apart from Simoncelli, can be satisfied: Baldolini is 8th, Locatelli 9th, while Pasini slipped. Bad luck therefore for the rider from Rimini and for the outgoing champion of the category, while Hiroshi Aoyama can celebrate his first world title, the last 250 champion who will change the rules (600 4-stroke) and name from next year with the advent of Moto2.
