“Without a doubt – comments the driver from Turin – I have a great desire to make amends after that unfortunate race which I don't want to return to even for a second. Soon we will race at Assen, a track that I love for its characteristics and on which having a good race is particularly satisfying. All the greats of motorcycling have raced here, so getting on the podium at Assen has a certain effect, but it's not just this that gives me energy...".

What else is there?
“Well, there are many factors, especially the result of the tests done in Barcelona after the race. Now we should no longer suffer from the engine problems that penalized me. Plus the bike is fine, so it's almost time to have the handling needed to stay in front. Assen could be the turning point, the point from which to restart this phase of the season. I'm not hiding, I'm very excited, as we drivers say, I like the track and it stimulates me and then the record is mine; having the best time (2'04”824) at the Motorcycle University is a great satisfaction”.

Rain is common in Holland, are there any particular strategies?
“Rain or shine, I aim to win, the men in the standings are now the same since the beginning of the year, so you have to be in the leading group from the first corner”.

For once you didn't make the trip from Italy to the track with the motorhome, why did you betray your philosophy on the road?
“I don't even think about it, I like traveling around Europe with the motorhome but, at the weekend, I was busy at the presentation of the Axo 2005 collection, so I left by plane, my father gave me a hand this time.. !”.
