250cc – Losail QP2 – Simoncelli crashes and doesn't improve

A beastly Friday. Fall in every round of testing, no improvement in the second qualifying round. This summarizes the day of Marco Simoncelli, the expected protagonist of the 250 with Gilera/Aprilia. Superpippo was unable to improve, and will therefore start from 13th position on the starting grid.

“What can I say, I'm very sorry for how today's two practice sessions ended; unfortunately both this morning and today in official practice, I crashed a few minutes from the end", Simoncelli said. "Today, among other things, I struggled a little more to ride the bike, I don't know, perhaps also because the asphalt was warmer and compared to yesterday the track wasn't cleaned much and as soon as you went off line you slipped. However, towards the end of the session we had made a change and the bike had improved a lot. I tried to follow Lorenzo and I realized that I was going fast, when then, at the exit of a corner, I opened the throttle too early and fell. What can I say about the race, I think running with the leaders will be difficult; As always, I will push to the maximum; I hope to get off to a good start and be able to catch up with a good group up front."
