250cc – Losail QP2 – Excellent performance for KTM and Poggiali

No one would have expected finding themselves in eighth and ninth position on their first appearance at Losail. The 250cc KTM raises its head again and amazes, with the RR250s proving competitive when we find two top riders such as Hiroshi Aoyama and Manuel Poggiali in the saddle. Let's start with the former 125 and 250 world champion from San Marino, extremely happy with his ninth position...

“I am really very happy with this result. The start of the championship, with injuries, falls and physical ailments, was disastrous, but luckily Losail brought us back to the positions we most deserve. I could have ended up on the second row if my long-term tire hadn't ended up on the best possible lap on my last useful lap. Let's try to make up for it tomorrow where I have a good race pace.”

One position ahead of the “Poggio” we find Hiroshi Aoyama, almost a “subscriber” to this placement from Jerez onwards.

“I found a good set-up. We dedicated ourselves intensely to developing the bike for racing, and I have to say that the KTM is well placed in certain sections of the track. Tomorrow I have to get a good start to hope to do well, otherwise it will always be the same story for us."
