Alex De Angelis concluded his adventure at the German GP on the podium. Starting from pole position with a record lap of 1'25”118, Alex immediately fought for the lead, leading for a few laps. “It was a wonderful weekend – said De Angelis – all I missed was the victory, but both the team and I couldn't have done better. At the start I lost a few positions but I was able to get ahead and tried to go away. Then Pedrosa arrived and passed me and I saw that he had a damaged left exhaust. I thought his engine was leaking something, but that wasn't the case. I did everything I could to stay with him, but his pace was two tenths faster than mine and I still kept pushing so as not to lose him. Towards the end of the race I would check the scoreboard to see where those behind me were. Second place today suits me very well, even though I've been chasing victory for a long time, I was the best on the track with the Aprilia. From now on I won't think about the ranking anymore, every race I will give my all to get the best. I know I've grown since the start of the season, it's a shame I didn't finish three races, but now I'm more determined than before.”

With today's podium Alex regains two positions in the championship, from eighth to sixth (87 points).

Simone Corsi's Sunday is different. The Roman driver who started with the fourteenth fastest time had made a good start and immediately entered the top ten but with 5 laps to go he had to return to the pits due to a broken spark plug.

“I started quite well – said Simone – at the first corner I managed to get in and was able to immediately go and catch Stoner and West. Unfortunately, towards the end of the race I felt something was wrong with the bike and I preferred to go into the pits rather than break everything."

Due to today's retirement Simone loses a position in the championship from ninth to tenth with 54 points.
